Terms of Service
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you and the operator of AskBetter AI ("we", "us"). By installing or using the AskBetter AI Chrome extension or the associated service at boost.golongshort.xyz, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not install or use the service.
2. What AskBetter AI is
AskBetter AI is a Chrome browser extension that, when you click its button on a supported AI chat site, sends the text in the input box to our backend, asks a large language model to rewrite it into a clearer or more specific prompt, and streams the rewritten text back into your input box. You always remain in control of what is finally submitted to the AI.
3. Your account
You sign in via Google. You are responsible for keeping access to your Google account secure and for any activity that occurs under your AskBetter AI account.
You must be old enough to form a binding contract under the laws of your jurisdiction (typically 13 or 16) and not be prohibited from using the service under applicable law.
4. Free trial
New subscribers receive a 7-day free trial of the paid plan. The trial requires a valid payment method. You may cancel any time before the trial ends to avoid being charged. Unused trial time is not refundable as cash or credit if you continue past the trial.
5. Subscription, billing, and renewal
The paid plan ("Pro") is CA$4.99 per month, billed via Stripe. The subscription auto-renews at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You authorize us, through Stripe, to charge the payment method on file for each renewal.
Prices are exclusive of any taxes that may apply in your jurisdiction. We may change pricing for future billing periods with at least 30 days' notice by email; the new price will apply to renewals after the notice period.
6. Cancellation
You can cancel any time from the extension popup ("Manage Subscription") or by emailing us. Cancellation stops future renewals; you retain access to the paid features until the end of the current billing period. After that, your account drops to the free tier (15 boosts per day) automatically — your account is not deleted.
7. Refunds
Subscriptions are non-refundable in general. If you cancel within 24 hours of a renewal charge and have not used the service in that billing period, we will issue a full refund of that charge on request. Edge cases (chargebacks, billing errors) are handled case by case — email us and we will sort it out.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to generate content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, defamatory, sexual content involving minors, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or model-train against our prompts, system instructions, or rate-limiting logic.
- Use automated scripts to call the backend at a volume meaningfully greater than ordinary interactive usage.
- Share or resell your account, or use a single account across multiple people.
- Probe for vulnerabilities other than through good-faith disclosure to us.
We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate access if we reasonably believe you are violating these rules.
9. Intellectual property
The extension, the backend, the branding, and the website are ours. You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use them while these Terms are in effect.
You own the prompt text you submit. By submitting it, you give us a narrow, transient license to process it for the purpose of returning a rewritten version — and nothing else. We claim no rights over the rewritten output you receive; treat it as your own.
10. Third-party AI sites
AskBetter AI inserts text into the input box of third-party AI chat sites (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek). Those sites are not affiliated with us, have their own terms, and we cannot guarantee that they will continue to allow third-party extensions that interact with their input box. If a site's update breaks the extension, we will try to fix it promptly, but cannot promise an SLA.
11. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service running, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. We may add, change, or remove features. For material changes that remove paid features mid-cycle, we will offer a pro-rated refund of the affected portion.
12. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The rewritten prompts are generated by an AI model and may be inaccurate, biased, or unsuitable. Treat the output as a draft, not as professional advice.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
14. Termination
You can stop using the service at any time by uninstalling the extension and (optionally) deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if your subscription remains unpaid past its grace period.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the province of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the courts located in British Columbia, unless your local consumer-protection law requires another forum.
